Reviewer: Rowena Lim Lei (12.23.2002) Synopsis: Review: The plot revolves around Astral, son of the Shadow tribe's king. Now Astral
is the typical hormonal hentai hero who enjoys peeping at bathing beauties
and sleeping around with just about every pretty girl that comes along.
Astral is engaged to be married to Sharon, the best female warrior of
the Shadow tribe, but Sharon can't help but wish that Astral was a stronger
and more capable man. As fate would have it, the Tribe of Light's princess
Maria is captured during one of the battles and Astral ends up having
sex with her. But sometime later, Sharon is also captured by the Tribe
of Light's king. Just as he is about to have his way with her Astral
attacks and cuts off the king's arm, which angers Maria... prompting
her to curse Astral. Astral awakens in a mysterious place, with no memory
of who he is and where he came from. He somehow ends up working as a
swordsman for the Tribe of Light, marking the beginning of his quest
for the Wordsworth tablet... although he's not really aware of it. The most disturbing thing about this whole series is not even the smattering of bestiality, but the fact that after Astral had been "asleep" for two decades, nobody ages except for the Tribe of Light king. Everybody can casually say it's been twenty years and yet still look exactly the same as they did on day one. While the Shadow tribe king offers a brief explanation regarding this phenomena, it was far from satisfying. The art and animation are done very well. Character designs are beautiful and unique. Sex is depicted lengthily and graphically, showing every single anatomical part and act. There is also a wide variety of sexual activities -- bestial rapes involving talking horses and pigs, tentacle rapes, consensual and non-consensual human sex... there's something for everyone. The English dubbing ranges from tolerable to bad. I thought porn actress Jenna Jameson had the right kind of voice for Sharon, but she was totally stiff and devoid of any emotion during her deliveries, save for the sex scenes. The same can be said of the other female characters, but the men actually sounded okay. With its great-looking visuals, RPG-esque plot, and light touches of comedy, Wordsworth is overall a recommendable hentai series. Miscellanies: Screenshots: Shopping - click on title to purchase:
