Reviewer: Rowena Lim Lei (7.21.2004) Synopsis: Review: At first Luticia and Shou appear like your normal starry-eyed couple. They talk, hold hands, take romantic strolls... a bit later, we find out that their prospects for a bright future together is dim. Luticia is a vampire and Shou is a human being. We are then treated to some very hot and steamy sex scenes between some other minor characters whose names I can't remember, and in the end there's still no resolution in sight for Luticia and Shou. Just sex. I didn't really feel any sense of tragedy since there wasn't much development for Luticia and Shou. In fact, watching this single volume didn't leave me wanting more. I'm fine with the way it is -- it had a lot of rather enjoyable sex scenes and so that's that. I'm like, who cares what happens to Luticia and Shou? The art and animation border from average to somewhat above average. Tragic Silence lacks the crispness and vibrance I've grown to expect from Nutech's releases. Plus I'm not really fond of the character designs for the protagonists Luticia and Shou, who look like two kids who've just reached their teens. The other characters looked far more interesting and scintillating compared to them. Sex is portrayed explicitly. Although mostly vanilla in flavor, there's a lot of variety in terms of activity and positions. Judging from what I've seen so far, Tragic Silence is just about an average hentai show. The lack of a continuation / conclusion didn't really bother me, but this is not really something that would comprise an exciting viewing experience.
