Animetric.com Newsletter Vol. 1

Sunday, 10th of February 2008

This is simply a one year update for everyone, looking at where we have been and where we are going.

Since my first review exactly one year ago, the site has posted a total of 29 reviews. This, sadly, is a far cry from the 52 I had hoped to do, but I am pretty happy with it anyway. This next year should end up with more reviews, as I am really going to try and get one out each week, if at all possible.

The site redesign has plagued me since the beginning. I knew I wanted to redo the site, but I have no ability to do this myself. My first attempt failed to attain what I wanted from it, which sadly wasted a lot of time and money. Now I am working with Caiobrz on a redesign and an entire back-end overhaul, so hopefully this will allow the site to have a somewhat new look and easier for me to work with. It also opens up numerous possibilities for future expansion, including new features.

One goal I really wanted to come to fruition was restarting the forum. This would be the fourth or fifth forum Animetric has had over the years. Started on March 13th, we have averaged over 23 posts per day with a number of old and new members joining in the fray. Hopefully this will expand as we get site wide navigation and allow the visitors on non-main pages to easily make their way to the forum and home page.

Reviews have been mostly anime, but I have been trying to increase the number of hentai reviews lately, to make up for the lack previously. I’ve had a number of questions as to whether I will be doing bishoujo game reviews, I will soon. I am playing the Bible Black b-game and will play Pretty Soldier Wars after that. So yes, I will try and start getting some b-game reviews posted.

Finally, I would like to take a moment to thank the people who have joined the site as mods and reviewers, who helped me over the past year. These include Josh (Sublyminal), Tony (Animedude35), and Tong (Spazmaster666). Josh and Tony ended up leaving due to real life responsibilities (school and work), but I would still like to extend my thanks for the time they put in to help me and that they are welcome back at any time.
