Synopsis:
Keiko is having a rough week. She was not only seduced by Jun, one of her students, but he was also the love interest of her daughter, Sae. After the shock of having an affair with a student and the betrayal of her daughter, Keiko decides to do what any respectable person would. She runs off, leaving her daughter all alone with no idea where her mother has gone. She won’t be alone for long though, for Jun, feeling awful about running her mother off, decides to do whatever she wants as a sort of penance. (Well, if having lots of sex with her can really be referred to as penance). How long will they be able to keep this charade going though, and will Keiko ever return?

Review:
My Classmate’s Mother had a somewhat tantalizing premise involving a love triangle between Keiko, her daughter Sae, and fellow classmate Jun. However, what could have worked as a comedy or tryst between all three of them instead turned into a story about Keiko leaving and the impact is has on her daughter and Jun. This creates a very sour taste throughout, as everyone is always depressed and just left wallowing as they hope for her return. The real problem here is not that the show went for a depressing or more serious tone; it’s simply that it has neither the story quality nor writing competency to pull it off successfully.

Covering two episodes, the first is presented as a flashback where Jun describes to Sae exactly what has been going on with him and her mother. After being thoroughly disgusted, as she should be given the detail he goes into, the second episode moves into the relationship between Jun and Sae and how they deal with her mother being gone. Basically, where the first episode was filled with sex between Jun and Keiko, the second is just sex between Jun and Sae. It’s a simple story, with simple characters, but the main problem here is that there is no enjoyment.

Why stop the disappointment there though? On top of being inherently insipid, they couldn’t even have interesting sex scenes or, at the very least, well animated ones. They go to such an extreme as to alternate the same looping scenes, so you think it’s something new, but it’s actually the same scene from the one before the last. They might even be kind enough to change the dialogue a little while doing this, to make the illusion further complete. Not only do you have to contend with these asinine animation tricks, but the actual sex is stale. There are only two women and one guy, so 20 minutes of sex with one girl and 20 with the other means, you would imagine, that they would vary it up. That, however, would be giving them too much credit. So we end up with multiple sex scenes repeating the same routine over and over again. To top it off, music is as basic as you can get, and ejaculation sounds oddly like a fish flopping around. It’s the icing on the cake.

My Classmate’s Mother is simply a mindless hentai title with appalling animation and run-of-the-mill character designs. Nothing really makes sense, a number of questions go unanswered, and ridiculously repetitive sex scenes fail to arouse. Nothing saves this release from being little more than a pile of junk.
