Reviewer: Rowena Lim Lei (10.8.2001) Synopsis: Review: While Miho isn't your average excessively scream-y type of hentai heroine, she's no Einstein either. To quote the video cover, "...Miho, a 19 year-old college student discovers that a weird stranger is stalking her. While her best friend Azusa, is busy seducing their professor, she discovers he is not human at all, but a horrible tentacle-endowed monster!". Wrong-o! First of all, Azusa's private tutor is not their professor, he doesn't even go to the girls' school... except to pick-up Azusa. Secondly, Miho does not discover the truth behind the tutor's identity -- until somebody tells her outright near the end of the show! She and Azusa never even suspect him in the least. I don't dislike Miho, but she's sure as hell not as capable as the video's summary makes her up to be. Interestingly enough, the sex beasts (yes, there is more than one) are portrayed as a part of human existence. They need human essence to survive... and I'll give you three guesses as to how they're supposed to "extract" this. They also aren't supposed to kill off people because they'd lose their "food supply" that way. Yes, the sex beasts are a rather fascinating bunch. The art and animation are of good quality. The characters are drawn very nicely, even the guys. Sexually speaking, LoD is very graphic... and most of the sex scenes involve tentacles galore. Another thing I noticed is that the sex beast's victims all have this blissful and ecstatic expression on their faces as they are violated. Sure, they run and scream at first, but when the sex beast starts working you'd think they were in heaven. LoD's conclusion took me completely by surprise. Hint: Watch it all the way through the credits. Overall, I can honestly say that LoD is one of the better tentacle titles out there... I liked it more than the over-hyped and over-rated "La Blue Girl". Miscellanies: Screenshots: Shopping - click on title to purchase:
