What anime, manga, or related products did you just buy?

ANN has one of these, and well... I like showing off. Try to keep the posts interesting by only posting when you have something more significant than a single movie.

I just received these from rightstuf today:

Gungrave boxset (limited non-thinpak edition)
Mermaid Forest boxset
Last Exile CD+DVD1 combo pack (I bought it only for the OST cause I already have the boxset)
Petite Cossette
Boogiepop Phantom + Others thinpak
RahXephon theatrical movie

I have absolutely no room left on my shelf, and I actually had to remove some things just to fit this new stuff.

Why not just post purchased stuff in the respective forum section threads instead of making a whole new topic in General Discussion?

Moved to the shopping area, fits better here.

Have you not seen any of those titles you just got in Mmsven?

As for me, the big purchase I recently made was tracking down and buying all the Star Blazers box sets. I got the Quest for Iscander, The Comet Empire, The Bolar Wars, and the box set with all the movies. Sadly, none of these were cheap

Reading the description of this forum section made me think otherwise.
Quote:
Post great deals you find, ask if an item you are looking at buying is legit, or just ask a general product question here.

This thread doesn't fit with any of those.

Only Mermaid Forest.

Mmsven,

I know, but it is just a general shopping area, disregard my specific comments trying to give the area some direction. Just think of it as a general shopping topic.

Well out of the ones you got I think you should probably enjoy Gungrave the most. (As long as you don't mind the supernatural elements added to the mostly real life mob story.)

As a man of my word, here it goes ... I promissed my first paycheck on a new job would be only for anime, and so it is. I'm going to pay over $500 for that but whatever, it didn't hit all my paycheck >D

- Kiddy Grade Box Set (8 discs version)
- Kaleido Star - Amazing Collection (part 1 of the series)
- Kaleido Star: New Wings True Star Collection (part 2 of the series)
- 5 Centimeters Per Second
- The Twelve Kingdoms Collection One
- The Twelve Kingdoms Collection Two

I would also add the following but my credit card is currently capped so I could not purchase anything bigger (next month perhaps?):

- Narue no Sekai
- Noein

And eagerly waiting for an ARIA boxed set (sometime near 2032)

The anime I've just bought today:
Full Metal Panic!
Elfen Lied

Yeah I know it's not much, but I'm gonna buy some more titles in the future.

Even though this might be sorta related(since they're Japanese movies), so I'm gonna say it anyway. I bought the Toho Movie Pack, which includes:
The Mysterians
Varan the Unbelievable
Matango

By related, I meant merchandise like wallscrolls.

Made an order 2 days ago. I can't remember all of what I got, I bought some good stuff and a bunch of bargain-bin movies (the ones with the higher ratings on ANN).

I bought:
Texhnolyze boxset
Yugo the Negotiator singles+box (bought because the complete collection looks like the size of a single dvd case)
Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust

BB movies:
AD Police Files
Madox-01
Madara
Dagger of Kamui

I know I bought something else and it's seriously bugging me right now...

Edit: Noein boxset
I still think there was one more thing.

Well I decided to take advantage of the reprinting/releasing of old stock/whatever for the old Battle Angel DVD. It's always been on Ebay for wayyyy too much (and used no less) since it was OOP, but it's nice to finally be able to get it for a reasonable price.

With that I got the first Lupin the Third movie box set with 5 movies for 18 bucks. Seems like a great deal for the material, and I've been a fan of the Lupin movies so far so I hope they don't disappoint!

And I couldn't pass this up: http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo ... 0571/4/0/0

And it's actually pretty nice for the 36 bucks. My only problems are that it the stand seems to be covered in some type of glitter that keeps coming off, and I broke the sword... The sword is made out of plastic and you have to put it into his hand. Well, it really wasn't going in so I kept pushing harder and I was like, "I'm going to break this thi..." and it broke, right at the handle. So I have to try and do a little superglue repair now, but it still looks pretty good minus the sword.

Whoa never saw this thread before...reminds me of the "what did you buy now" (or something like that) thread from the old animetric...

Well the last 4 dvd's I bought were...
Steamboy
Letters from Iwo Jima
Stranger than Fiction
The Brave One

Unless this is only anime...than I will have to start reading this thread from the beggining...

edit:read all the post since there weren't so many to begin with...and yes...I guess it is all anime...

Alright, this topic has been dead for far too long. It's time to resurrect this motha! Bring me The Book of the Dead from the Mummy movie! (either the 1932 or 1999 version will do)

Anyway, I have bought the entire set of Escaflowne for $21.99 (used) at Fye. I though it was a steal and glad I pick this one up since I've heard many great things about Escaflowne on this site. I'm certainly looking forward in watching it and hope it's great.

"Escaflowne" is great, you'll see. The only thing I did not like was the can-opener-like noses.
Humor, action, and romance, and everything between earnest and fluffy, in a way.
The movie took the whole thing to a further stage by turning the cast into more bad-ass characters. I kinda liked that.
Congratulations on your bargain purchase btw.
