Very romantic indeed.

THE two? Who? There was a real relationship between Saki and Kôsaka of course, and hints of Ôno and... her tailor. But the protagonist seemed rather passive on that behalf.
Well, maybe I have forgotten certain details, I just never considered Genshiken a romance.

Hm, didn't the Manga take up some Hentai momentum? Iori being nearly raped and such stuff?
(Since I'm generally not interested in Manga and their discussion I had to draw this from hearsay, I have to admit.)

Edited as recommended.

In the second season, Ohno and Tanaka's relationship is brought out into the open and Sasahara starts to move toward a relationship with Ogiue. However I wouldn't consider Genshiken to be romance, the only relationship that is featured is the one between Sasahara and Ogiue and it's only in the lead up to confession stage. To get the proper romantic subplot, you have to read the manga.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Kare Kano yet.

Thats not exactly what happens. You should watch it again, and put some fucking spoiler tags next time, like I just did for it.

... is it me or 42317 TOTALLY SPOILED the title? if what he says is true, not only the title should be kept VERY FAR from this thread (seams people are NOT understandin the concept of COUPLE and SAFE), but I plead you to edit that comment and put into spoiler tags =/

My thoughts exactly ... there goes a title down the drain with a big spoiler like that =/

Anyway ...

I"s hentai? that's a first lol. BTW just because a girl is (almost) raped it makes a title hentai? I don't think so. Iori is ALMOST raped, and there is no real graphic nudity (mild though). I"s is an amazing romance, most of the title handles the life of the couple and their hardships, though the male lead is a moron

Oh, yeah maniac, Kare Kano is a must on this list! Good call.

lol guys, I went to read some reviews on the titles you suggested, but EWWW I can't stand it, except the ones there is a review here, there is no other site I can respect enough. People always comparing to other titles, or saying "this is a rip-off of that, totally not original" AAA

Can you elaborate a little more on the romance for the following titles (focus: has closure, the closure is a little before the end so we can see the couple in their daily lives, and that the romance is at least pleasant - I read some about Okusama wa Joshi Kosei where they say the poor couple never get really together because they have to hide they are married =/ for instance)

Okusama wa Joshi Kosei
Sakura Diaries
TokiKake
Peach Girl
Aishiteruze Baby
Nana
my dear marie
tenshi na konamaiki

agian, the most important thing for me is closure and lack of annoying triangles (a subtle non-annoying is ok I guess) and NO WAY I can accept teen-romance xD~

TokiKake isn't really romantic now that I think of it. Don't watch it expecting something like that. Armitage III and Jin-Roh are still good picks though.

As Rowena set up Sakura Diaries at the start of her review:

Rowena Lim Lei wrote:
Sakura Diaries is a different take on your classic love triangle. Urara is in love with her cousin Touma, but Touma wants the sophisticated college girl Mieko.

Beyond this, I feel Rowena explained the situation between the three in that review a lot better than I can.

Yeah, that would be awesome!

You should read the manga then.

BTW Spaz, would Clannad fall under this category as a safe romance?

Yes and no. Yes in that it would be considered "safe." No, in that's it's not really a romance series.

Okay, okay, it was a mistake.
I thought this was the sort of title that everybody had already seen...

That could be said for many I haven't watched, such as EVA.

Besides, what about anime newcomers?

Well, there will be those that read the forum and haven't signed up. So even if everyone on here has seen the title, it may ruin it for those that just read the forum and are either new to anime or haven't seen that title yet. If nothing else, it's just good to be on the safe side if you giving away any important aspect of a title.

Yeah, just because I've seen Jin-Roh doesn't mean somebody that hasn't signed up for the forums yet has. (I'd advise they go fix that ASAP, but that's another thing entirely.) That's why my post trying to explain my pick was what it was; I felt Rowena's review did better with than I could, so I ended up just pointing to that. That's why I also use spoil and color=yellow tags over in the reading now thread. Don't feel like I can talk about the chapters of Naruto I've been reading without pointing out what in particular I'm talking about, and I don't feel it's fair to those who might not have read it yet to let the comments hang out there without proper tags...

I did not watch Jin-Roh and that spoiler scratched from my list =p

I think we should build a big bonfire and toss 42317 at it!

There will ALWAYS be newcommers. People are not born with knowledge of all anime released up to date =p Did you watch ALL anime released prior to 2008?
