True. I'd just rather buy DVDs than to download (legally or not).

Well I don't think anybody here is saying about total cease of DVD production, only that they should not think it's the ONLY way to sell anime. Just like you rather buy the DVD, others rather download it. Might be actually an AMAZING plan to allow you to download and if you download all episodes you can get the DVD for free as a prize (after all, you paid for all the episodes either way).

What he said. I like having a DVD on my shelf.

The main issue I've been having with DVDs is that they've been around for over ten years now and not much has changed technology wise. Sure, progressive scan and upscanning are recent technologies but it doesn't change the fact that the DVD video format is very outdated, even compared to most fansubs.

I'm not saying you're dumb or anything. I'm just of the opinion that being 29 is not enough to speak of habits that take 20 years. You might say that what you saw 20 years ago is still pretty lively in your mind, okay, no problem. But once you're 49 things might look very different from what you perceived today. Let's talk again in 20 years to check whether the phenomenon which you described is still true.

Huh, I don't need to be a doctor to know that, unless I get some serious sickness, my memory capacite will not change in 20 or 40 years. Memory only starts failing way after 60, and that's for people who don't "exercise" them much. Yes, I have confidense to say my memory will work the same way as it does now, in 20 years. If you ask me about when I'm 70 I can't tell, but 50yo, 60yo ... no point discussing.

Also, regardless if you are right or not, here is the thing: if my memory fails in 20 years, I would like to have the anime to watch by than, so keeping the anime for 20 years remains the same either my memory continues to work fine or not =p

Perhaps people need to be able to watch a 1024p video to realize how DVD is outdated =/

Hmm... I can safely say that at 27 years of age, I'm already having trouble remembering stuff that happened to me when I was a kid (not my teens). I can still remember memorable events, but they seem so distant, like they happened to somebody else, not me.

Might just be me though.
