So, somebody revived the BRS thread concering current musical soundwave reception. :D
I'm listening to army parody songs by a (nationally) famous German comedy musician.

Well I guess this is the closest as I can get to what I currently like =p

My mp3 player (which is on all day) have the following folders, which say it all:

Aria OST
AhMyGoddess TV OST
Byousoku 5cm OST
Nodame Cantabile OP/ED singles
Rie Fu*
Maaya Sakamoto*
Mikuni Shimokawa*
Ishida Yoko*

For the anime OSTs: only the vocals or pretty piano solos
For the Artists, marked in *, a collection of what I like the most since some of them, like Maaya, have like 6 albuns and countless singles/etc

My favourite RIGHT NOW is Rie Fu (because she's my latest addition), but my all-time favourite is Maaya

Hm, interesting interpretation of the topic, I haven't thought of that.
I thought the question was, like, in present progressive:
"What are you listening to right now as you type these lines"
as opposed to:
"What kind of music do you prefer these days?"
:D

I was keen on what words to use, hoping readers needn't bother about the specifics. Just take the question as it comes to you.

I'm listening to the South Park Bigger, Longer and Uncut OST.

Flooding? Why's that? I visit this thread now and then, usually only when I am listening to some music, which is rare lately. Nobody wants you to write it down anytime your mp3 player changes the track.

I know, but can you imagine everytime you visited you posted what you were listening, multiplied by all users (ok, not much LOL), would be disastrous. I think packing them up into "what you have been listening latelly" is a little better =p

And I'm still on to Rie Fu, even forgot all the others folders on the mp3 player =p

Listening to some Karas OST. I must say the soundtrack is quite good. I think only 1 or 2 songs on it I disliked.

Meikyu Butterfly, a new single release by Mizuki Nana. I assume its either a character image album/insert song single for the anime Shugo Chara, either way I have yet to see the song appear in the anime so whatever. Mizuki Nana sings great songs. The single somehow lacks the... power of the Nanoha theme and inserts, but nice to listen to anyway. The 2nd song in it is one of those softer songs.

Then theres Seisen no Iberia by Sound Horizon. Sound Horizon always amuses me. I love their stuff, even though they like to put loads of story telling in it and I understand none of it. But when horses start neighing and theres a deep voice speaking Engrish, it just somehow makes the song epic.

"Roots Bloody Roots", parody by JBO.
The YouTube video drew rather interesting comments, like:
"I didn't know SEPULTURA made a symphony album!?" :D

I've been listening to "Violent Femmes" lately.
These guys were playing in a street corner until one of the guys from "The Pretenders" listened to them and got them into the business.
These guys are genius, it is a perfect mix of Punk/Blues/Jazz/Folk. The first time I heard their music I felt I already knew it from my whole life. They are that good.

Me and a friend are so enthusiastic about them that we might start a band to cover them, maybe.
In any case I'd like to recommend them to any of you who may not have heard their music.
They are from the 80's, pretty cool, might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it doesn't hurt to give them a try. 8)

I kinda know about Violent Femmes. Just from a performance of Kiss Off they did for 120 Minutes, though.

I've mainly been listening to Digital Summer and Cavalera Conspiracy lately. Digital Summer's a local group where I am that I caught wind of when visiting a local radio DJ's myspace. (She had a song of theirs on her page at the time.) Cavalera Conspiracy I found when their label (Roadrunner) sent an email about updating something. The band is sort of a reunion of brothers who, to my knowledge, last worked together when both were in Sepultura before Max left.

Along with the stuff from last time, I'm also listening to a group called kHz. Heard of them kind of the same way I did Digital Summer, only the guy had their video for "Test My Faith" on his myspace page at the time. (Dunno if it's still there on his site, but it's one of the ones on mine.)

kHz released their newest album on iTunes last week, though, so that's in my iPod now.
