This forum is under attack by some perverts promoting porn sites. We can TALK about porn but no advertising and dirty pics can be sent here.I hope all administrators and moderators can clean this place.

lol I hear ya! I am looking at a way to take them out right now.

Update: Well I found that all of them had a certain something in common, and have now banned that. Thus, they should not be able to sign-up any more.

This will not stop all the spam, I will have to install some mods to successfully do that, but should stop a lot of the recent ones anyway.

Yeah, it's those damn forum bots that do those things, if the board is maintained, then it's all good, and like i've seen with some dead boards, those things can take over a forum real fast...

I have to wonder just how the forum bots manage to bypass the graphic authentication process of forums. :?

Forum bots have gotten smarter as well... every post I manage to catch I quickly delete.

Yeah those spam bots can be real bastards some times, yes i cussed, but it's true. A Bastard is someone or something that is given life be a couple out of wed lock. And if you think spam bots aren't alive you tell them that, they're alive enough annoy the hell out of us.

Just recently a "salesman" invades this forum. He may not as annoying as perverts promoting porn sites but still very annoying.Fortunately the admins or moderators have deleted that thread. We don't need salesman either.

I've used another forum in the past that had problems with bots. One of the things they discovered was that replying to the bots was actually a really bad idea because all it does is alert the source to active posters (thus inciting more bots.)

Really? Hmm, my bad then. Is there any way to alert the admins and moderators to bot posts then?

You can PM me about it, but honestly I check the forum/am on all the time, so I will notice it really quickly regardless.

Wow! They hit like a ton of bricks today! Haven't had them posting in like every single thread yet, that was... interesting.

When they do not have anything in common it is difficult to ban something and know that the problem is solved. Sadly, while all these people were posting the same things, they had nothing in common.

Well, to solve this problem if it persists I will just make it so I must approve all members before they are able to start posting. Or find some sort of phpbb2 hack that can stop them, though I haven't seen one yet.

Edit: I went ahead and made it so I must approve members before they can post. I don't need another day of 20+ spam posts invading the forums.
