This thread is for us to ask for advice about different series. For instance if an anime series is worth buying and such.

Okay now that I have the purpose of the topic down I have an inquiry of my own.

I'm thinking about finally picking up Ninja Scroll tv and Ninja Resurrection. I loved Ninja Scroll the movie but Resurrection has mixed reviews at best and Ninja Scroll I hyped to the unteinth (misspelled sorry) degree so I'm asking for honest answers. Should I pick them both up or Silent Mobius and Azumanga Daioh? Again I prefer dark anime, not meaningless dark i.e. dark because we think its cool but rather Samurai X and EVA dark, in other words it has teath and ain't afraid of showing them.

Ninja Scroll the TV series is an absolute travesty (in my opinion, anyway). It's got shallow, one-dimensional characters, villains who cross the line from the supernaturally bizarre to the outright ludicrous, and a storyline which, to be honest, just failed to instill in me any sense of interest. If you watched and enjoyed the movie, don't watch the series.

Silent Mobius is indeed dark, but not EVA or Elfen Lied dark, IMO. I thought the plot was the somewhat lame, but the character's stories, which is SM's strength, make it worthwhile. Nevertheless, there are some very good episodes among the 6 discs.

If you feel like checking out Chrno Crusade, skip the anime and go for the manga......

Storm Shinobi, where'd Chrono Crusade come from? Never mentioned it in this thread, still thanks for the tip I'll start spamming my library to pick it up, because I think the anime really messed up the ending.

Marqtele there are 6 disc!? I ony could find for please tell me I didn't miss out being able to buy the entire series by waiting until I had nothing more pressing to buy!

The Adict,

Ninja Scroll tv and Resurrection are both alright, in the sense that they are fine to watch if you have nothing better to do with your time. They aren't going to show you anything impressive, but they do entertain at least somewhat. Maybe it's just a byproduct of my low expectations after seeing the horrible reviews for each, especially Resurrection.

Ninja Resurrection is quite possible the worst anime I've ever seen. Just talking about it . . . brings back those horrible memories. :?

I SO VERY MUCH agree with you. "Resurrection" is so abysmally bad I even watched the live action movie for the laugh of it.

Yeesh, that's quite a list. I'll just go through and rate the ones which I've watched:

.Hack/ Legends of the Twilight Bracelet - Bad.
.Hack/Sign - Good.
Akira - Decent. Watch it just so you can say you've watched it.
Chrono Crusade - Good, but the ending is a bit of a letdown. I heard the manga is better though.
Cowboy Bebop - Good.
Cowboy Bebop the movie - Good. Make sure to watch the movie before you finish the series
Excel Saga - Good, but it's humor is not for everyone. If you didn't like the first episode, you probably won't like the rest.
Ghost in the Shell - Good.
Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence - Decent. Lovely graphics, but much more cerebral than the first movie. Not for everyone.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Good.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2ndgig - Good. Much more action packed than the first series.
Grave of the Fireflies - Good. Excellent movie about war.
Jin-Roh: Wolf Brigade - Good. Don't watch if you hate unhappy endings though.
Macross Plus - Good.
Metropolis - Decent.
Neon Genesis Evengelion - Decent.
Neon Genesis Evengelion: Death & Rebirth - Decent.
Neon Genesis Evengelion: The End of Evengelion - Decent.
Ninja Scrolls The Movie - Good. Really violent, however.
Paranoia Agent - Good. Ending gets a little... bizarre, though.
Please Teacher - Decent.
Please Twins - Decent, but better than Please Teacher.
Princess Monoko - Good.
Record of Lodoss War OAV - Good, but then again, I LOVE fantasy anime. The storyline's probably pretty cheesy by today's standards.
Sailor Moon - Decent.
Sailor Moon S - Decent.
Serial Experiments Lain - Decent. I got REALLY confused by this series though.
Spirited Away - Good.
Vampire Hunter D - Good.
Vampire Hunter D: Blood Lust - Umm... Would have OK for its time, but it looks REALLY dated in comparison to the other movie
Wings Of Honneamise - Good, although it's a real introspective movie.
Witch Hunter Robin - Good, but last few episodes are a bit of a letdown.

lol, I like all the work you put in Zaxares, but I don't know if that really helps him. I think he was looking for suggestions for stuff that he hasn't seen yet, thus why he posted his list.

Princess Monoko? Do you mean Princess Mononoke?

Anyway, for what I'd recommend:

Assuming "Monoko" was meant to be "Mononoke" before, Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbor Totoro are the only two Studio Ghibli films I have I didn't see in your list. Those are the first two I think of. Technically the first thing i think of is anything I might have that is from Studio Ghibli. Since Kiki and Totoro are the only two I didn't see in your list, I go with them.
