Sure, I'm good with recognizing anime, as I've seen a lot of obscure and older series. So if there is anything, don't hesitate to ask me.

I usually think i've spotted a Gainax title if the character designs look somewhat similar to the Evangelion character designs and if the plot is something REALLY insane but in a funny way and includes in some titles giant robots; Kare Kano of course was an exception.

Nowadays, the best way for me to identify that an anime has been dubbed by Funimation is if i can spot the character voiced by Laura Bailey. She's a great voice actress and i usually am very successful in spotting her roles.

I've managed to find out the name of the anime series this pic came from!
Image

It's called UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie and it's made by Kaishaku, the same people who worked on Steel Angel Kurumi, Kannazuki no Miko, and Kyuoshiro to Towa no Sora.

So far I've only seen the first episode of it...

...and it's pretty good.

Yeah... I like them magical girlfriends and nekogirls... 8)

Not quite an anime title to be IDed, but it's related.

Can anyone tell me the name of the song in the first part (before the Beauty and the Beast scene). It's too sped up and high pitched for me to catch a solid line of lyrics...

There is this particular scene in an anime I have watched, but cannot put my finger on. I reckon it was a relatively recent show.... definitely some kind of romance/drama thing.

Basically a girl is talking to some guy and just reveals a secret in some dead pan sorta way. Then just averts her gaze and simply goes: Ah I said it. (Aa ii cha ta or something like that in Japanese). Then the dude she was talking to just goes EH?!

I think it was regarding her love interest or something. And the dude that she was talking to liked her, but wasn't liked back.... but then I'm not 100% on this.

I am currently quite bothered and unamused by this vague scene being stuck in my head. It might even be a manga and I don't realize it. I mean like the last time I was bothered by a supposed anime scene, it was a scene from an eroge.

she is a surly girl who wields a sword and loves to eat melon cakes.

I need some help with this one:

So the protagonist is a high school boy. He's Japanese, a little bit awkward, yet seemingly has a heart of gold. Despite his good nature he's still an outcast at school with at most a couple friends. Later in the anime, he has a run-in with a beautiful girl and then all kinds of crazy adventure hijinks ensue.

Can anyone tell me what this anime is? I'm sorry I don't have a screenshot, but I feel with such a unique premise, someone must be able to pin it down?

Sorry, no idea. At least I had none that matched all criteria.
