I have a German education ("So kurz wie möglich") ("as short as possible"). :gatsu:

Jee, I have German education, too, but I thought that "short and precise" was a universal rhetorical rule.

I would have to agree with you there. She's the only Twilight character that I would allow to live, but she has to go out with me of course. :P

A colonel inspects a field hospital to see how the sick and wounded were.
He notices a feverish young guy and asks the doctor what was wrong with him.
"He's a case of Typhoid fever, colonel."
"Oh, that's bad... had that myself. You either die or you go gaga."

From Canadaka.net:

We Canadians have to be very vigilant, because there are a lot of imposters out there, including terrorists. If you suspect that someone is trying to pass themselves off as Canadian, make the following statement, and the carefully note their reaction:

"Last night, I cashed my pogey and went to buy a mickey of C.C. at the beer parlour, but my skidoo got stuck in the muskeg. On my way back to the duplex, I was trying to deke out a deer, you see. Damn Chinook melted everything. Then a Mountie snuck up behind me in a ghost car,and gave me an impaired. I was S.O.L., sitting there dressed only in my Stanfields and a touque at the time, and the Mountie, he's all chippy and everything - calling me a "shit disturber" and what not.
What could I say, except "Sorry, eh?"

If the person you are talking to nods sympathetically, he/she's one of us. If, however, they stare at you in blank incomprehension, they are not a real Canadian. Have them reported to the authorities immediately.

------------

I have to say I would have to stare in blank incomprehension.
Someone care to clarify?

I imagine it's because many of the terms (or their meanings) are specific to Canada, and as such only someone from Canada would truly know what you're talking about. Unless you were looking for a translation of the crazy terms used throughout so you could know more of what the heck they are saying, but that I cannot help ya with.

lol, well I wasn't sure if you didn't know why that would help you figure out if someone was Canadian (and thought they were just regular English words you really didn't know), or if you just couldn't figure out what these crazy Canadian terms were. At any rate I will take that award nomination and hope to win it! :d^_^b:

I thought I would post some funny jokes I heard today but here it goes:

Marriage is like a deck of cards,

You need a Heart to love her

A Diamond to marry her

A Club to knock her fucking head in

and a Spade to burry the bitch when she's dead

Why do men like to be on the bottom during sex?

Cuz they only know how to fuck up

I only know a few of those terms off the top of my head. I don't know if these are exclusive to Canada. The rest seem like the type of thing that would come up in the northern area of Canada, which is remote, so barely any Canadians actually talk like that.

Quote:
S.O.L.
Shit out of luck.
Quote:
duplex
I think that is some sort of small apartment home.
Quote:
Mountie
Some sort of law enforcement officer? EDIT: I looked it up and I was right, it is a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Quote:
touque
Beanie.
Quote:
"Sorry, eh?"
"Eh" is sort of like saying "you know what I mean?"
Quote:
skidoo
Snowmobile.

Thanks, Mmsven, that helped. I think "Mountie" was the only technically Canadian term that I knew.

Remember the royal anthem of the kilted yaksmen!

Our country reeks of trees,
Our yaks are really large,
And they smell like rotting beef carcasses.
And we have to clean-up after them
And our saddle sores are the best,
We proudly wear women's clothing
And searing sand blows up our skirts

And buzzards, they soar overhead
And poisonous snakes devour us whole
Our bones will bleach in the sun!

And we will probably go to *thbppth*
And that is our great reward
For being the-uh-Roy-yal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen!
