Muramasa: The Demon Blade by Vanilla Ware is the spiritual successor to their previous game, Odin Sphere. The best way to describe Muramasa would be to take the 3D Ninja Gaiden games and convert them back to 2D.

The game is being developed exclusively for the WII and will be published in North America by Xseed. Makes me glad I got a Wii.

I didn't think they still made side-scrolling Hack 'n' Slay games... it's a pretty old-school concept, but seemingly it's still popular.
Yes, if I wanted I could look up games of the last decade and I'm sure I'd find a number of relatively new and popular side-scrollers... but I'm not that much into these games, I lack the coordination abilities needed to steer the character effectively.
