Same here, I also only watch it after I have it complete as I rate cliffhangers, which obviously introduces the problem of having too many ongoing series no the HDD and not having watched any xD~

Well some series will take up more than one DVD so a lot of times I will burn half of the series, and then the remaining when it has completed.

It's interesting to hear that everyone is transferring their stuff onto DVDs. I used to put stuff onto CDs, back in the day, then I briefly started to use DVDs, but it was too much of a pain so I just started buying more hard drive space. I like the idea of having a digital copy of everything to go along with my physical copy. (I don't need to burn them since I just buy them when they come out in the US, so I just hold the digital copy till that happens and then I have both).

That being the case, I actually have a ton on anime on my HD, around 700 gigs currently. I've actually just bought another TB of HD space so I can continue to expand my digital collection. I'll be a happy man once I get a digital backup of all my stuff :)

Acmurphy, I don't see the point of having both.

Anyway, back when I was just getting into anime, I downloaded ALOT. So much that Shaw got pissed off and called me up and said I was in the top 10 of most bandwidth usage. I downloaded/uploaded like 120 gb (I didn't upload much though) in two months (with 71 gb of other usage, not sure where it came from, but in total thats 191 gb). They called again the next month because I downloaded too much again.

This is why I only download fragments of series now. I'd rather keep my internet: the source of porn, forum interaction, free music, and animenewsnetwork.

Mmsven,

The point in having both is simple. DVDs break, get scratched, and it's a pain having to port around over 1000 DVDs in DVD cases. Plus, if you do port them, you have the added possibility of them being damaged when transporting them from place to place. So I like to do both.

I'm always careful, I always buy my stuff new and make sure they stay in perfect condition (although sometimes new is bad). None of my friends are anime fans so I never have someone borrow them, even if they did ask I probly wouldn't risk giving it to them (I've had some bad experiences before, and heard even worse things).

What do you mean by "port"?

Ah dang, you've got me beat. Though to be fair, I have a ton of HD movies on my drives so I don't have the free space necessary to store so much anime. ;)

How much total hard disc space do you have btw? Right now, I have 2143 GB according to Windows Vista.

lol, you know this didn't seem odd to me until I started thinking about it. I think my friends and I started using port as a short way of referring to a teleport. It seemed to get transferred into my normal speech as some sort of "carrying from one place to another" type of thing. So port=carry&transport, I guess...

I still don't have one anime in HD, I'll have to look into correcting that!

After the new terabyte, I'll have 2127 gigs of Hard Disc space. Looks like you got me beat there :D

A live example of idiolect. Very nice, I'll remember that as an anecdote for my final exams...

Oh, you're low-tech, too?
My diskspace is very limited (80 GB now), but that's not the only reason why I immediately burn stuff that I like.

For me I burn lots of it but I also like to keep it on an External for a quick method of sharing and uploading.

None, cuz I watch them on Veoh. Tee hee hee. I don't want to download anime on my hard drive since I don't want it to either infect my computer or get me the wrong thing.
