Well, I kept the costs down somewhat by building my own computers, so it wasn't so much.

*After my first (personal) computer, which was a $3000.00 Gateway with 400mhz, I decided the best thing to do would be to just build them myself after that. (The first family computer was much older, this one was a birthday present when I was 13 I think). So a couple years after I got that one I built a new computer every year for four years or so, with a cost of about 800.00 each time (Some cannibalization included  ). So it really hasn't cost all that much in the end.

Maybe, I have 1.2 ghz above the minimum requirement so idk. I am thinking it might be the fact that I have only a 256 meg graphics card, rather than 512, so it can't handle it or something along those lines, as I do have 3 gigs of ram. Who knows...

Dual cores are cheap these days. You can get a nice Core 2 for $200, and it'll be a big help in a game like Bioshock.

Also a good way to get around having to spend big $$ every time you upgrade is to sell your old stuff.

As for RPGs on the 360, yeah it has been lacking a bit. But there have been games like Oblivion, Blue Dragon, and some upcoming ones like Mass Effect and Lost Odyssey.

If I don't use my old parts in my new build, I save them and use them to build my father a new computer. That way whenever I get a new comp he basically gets a new one as well, so he is more inclined to part with the money, as it is all his anyway (I'm just a poor student :( )

I will probably look at getting a Xbox 360 as soon as it has more RPGs out, to the point that it is worth buying the system.

Well the advantage to a console like the 360, is that it's only $350. To play a game like Bioshock decently on a PC would require a $1500+ system.
