I was mentioning an idea I had for a game in another thread and mentioned a thread fo rthe type of game, plot ideas, etc that people would like to see in B-games might be good.

Then realised I could actually create it D'oh.

So what would people like to see more of in B-games.

I'll start with my 2 penneth worth

Older Heros older women, I'd like to see more stuff set in the 20's or 30's rather than the teens and lolli types.

Sci Fi The only Sci- Fi B game I've seen thus far is the excellent Critical point; however; surely this is a huge area to explore and has options to go above and beyond the usual plot elements, spaceships alien 1st contact, even Westworld type theme parks are all options

Superheroes, there was a version of this in Jewel Knight Crusaders which had an intriguing set up but I got annoyed with the protaganist real quickly, surely somethign more can be done with this possibly with a more interesting selection of powers to play with.

Memento, this is sort of the idea I pitched elsewhere you start out at a bad ending and have to retrace the steps you've taken and make new choices in order to fix your life and set it on the right path there's a PS2 game that's a little like this where you have to fix things so you don't die at various times

And on a related note time travel which doesn't seem to have been explored at all that I can see, might be interesting to do somethign with living through linked lives withthe same group of people until you achieve the connections you need to (could do the thing on a small scale as a Groundhog day sort of deal)

I'm sure the more talented and imaginative people out there have more and better ideas though

Actually, I'm pretty sure that hourglass of summer had these elements.

I've not played hourglass I'll have to pick it up and give it a go.

Thinking further on this last night I was suprsed there's not been more done with Mecha as well you'd have thought that'd be an area ripe with oppotunities but I can only think of Metal and Lace even vaguely in the field.

It is true that Loli- and Highschool-Girl-based Hentai games are overabundant, an effect of the Japanese love for "Seishun" ("youth") topics because they're nostalgic in a way, and most Hentai games are all the same, basically. I don't think it matters much how old the protagonists are.
At the same time, having older actors, beyond college times and maybe well into a job, often restricts the type of character. Usually such women are presented as office ladies, mothers, teachers, or bar hostesses, in some cases nurses, too, but I believe that most nurses in Hentai are either in job training or only at the beginning of their twenties. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Stereotypes are usual, women are put into certain job roles, namely the ones above. A female mechanic wouldn't be the same, although it might be refreshing (let me remind you of the "Private Lesson" games). But freeters (people who exclusively work in one or more part-time jobs) haven't yet found their way into Hentai... maybe I missed it?
Have you seen "Key the Metal Idol"? Key's friend Sakura is a freeter, who says "a girl's gotta make a living..." while there are clues that she has worked with the porn producer who also appears in the Anime. Such a (female) freeter could be an interesting protagonist, balancing between honorable work, "compensated dating", and loving only one.
Of course that would virtually break up the usual concept, because the protagonist would be female and being after men (or one man), which will not quite thrill the average male gamer. But stories from a female point of view are pretty rare. I can only remember a single game like that, and I believe it's a "Tokimeki Memorial" off-spin.

Another idea: class reunion after 10 years.
He has chosen his favorite girl in highschool but at the meeting there are also six girls whom he was in bed with but who were discarded. Now they are plotting revenge... or something like that. Or maybe each of them still wants to have him back for herself, so our hero has to decide whether to leave his wife for another woman, whether to stay with her exclusively, or whether to open a harem and live like god in France... not unbelievably original, but, hey, then they're in the desired age group, about 28yo, and who cares for an original plot if the sex parts are good?

I would like to see Troll 2 be turned into a B-game, where the protagonist and several girls move to Nilbog, where the townsfolk are actually goblins in disguise. The characters not only get into romantic situations, but they must survive and try not to eat what the townsfolk offer them or they'll be turned into a half-human, half-plant (a goblins favorite food). XD

I would like to see an all-yuri B-game as well, because they're pretty much nonexistent and I'm sure yuri fans would appreciate it very, very much.

And also, I would like to see a B-game that has tokusatsu themes in it whether it's kaiju, superhero, meha, sci-fi or fantasy.

I definitely agree with you, regarding the abundance of loli and HS-girl games, 42317. I believe finding a really impressive b-game is really difficult because in order for them to stand out among the loads of ridiculous, "Hi-How are you?-Let's fu**", titles it requires a truly involving storyline and believable characters. I assume believable characters have been wiped out due to over-hunting.
Older actors would be a refreshing thing to see in a b-game and I think that the only reason that they are lacking in numbers is, unfortunately, they probably wouldn't sell as well within Japan. :( Though, should somebody find a good title like this it is definitely something I, a probably loads among us, would like to see!

Taking on Gojira's point of a small town, how about a B-game set in a Redneck place? There are plenty of Redneck B-movies and stuff to get ambience from, and the girls can always be driven there somehow (even with SciFi methods). Plus, it would allow for dangerous-looking immature older males to appear with ease.
