I thought it would be great to have a thread about this since I know we could give pointers to one another or gave requests...etc...

And since I connect like twice a week...I'll probably be changing my sig often...
These were ones I had in mind...

Image

Image

Png would be the prefered format...so if you see it in IE you might see it ugly..in another browser it would look great...so I used both gif and png to show you the sigs I made but not gonna use them since they break regulations for the boards...

Image

Image

Anyways as you can see I wanted to use those two..haha..which I do like...
But gonna end up using the one you see now from Berserk...

What are your opinions?....

very nice work fresno. You have great talent for making sigs. I like the bottom ones better than the first because I think the first one seem overcrowded onthe left side, and has too many fresno =P

Ah that's Asra...or Asura....don't know which one is more official...ha...
But he's from a Samurai Showdown game..one of the 3-D ones...or both...not sure since I haven't played it...but I did love the character overall and it's art...so I've been using him a lot in sigs...

And there's nothing like too many Fresno's 8)

For those who want to know how I made them I can give a quick tutorial later on...I did it once in another board I used to go to and they learned quick...

Cause I always like seeing what other poeple create...they usually end up making better sigs than mine...at least a girl who I teached got so much better than me...that damn...girl...

Ahem...anyways...thanks for the comments...the bottom one does look good...

Fresno has always made impressive sigs... I too, like the bottom ones better.
i just noticed i havent uploaded my sig or avatar, so i went to villagephotos.com to log in and get the links for my old ones, but i guess after such a long of inactivity they decided to close my account. Oh well, i'll have to open a new one, and upload them again.
I kinda feel like making a new sig, might post it tomorrow.

In the old days of Animetric, I used to host everything on Walagata, but unfortunately they cut out their free service a few years ago. Granted Flickr and Photobucket give me way more space and bandwidth than Walagata ever did...

Oh c'mon Fresno, I got over the whole "transparancy" thing a while ago . . . ;)

Just kidding, those are great man . . . 8)

Anyway, I haven't made many new ones recently (busy as hell) but here are a few old one's I liked:

Anyway, I did just get Photoshop CS3 lately so I'll probably start playing around with it as soon as finals are over . . .

It never gets olds with me...haha..since you can use your imagination and have fun just with the shape of your sig...

I like the colors of those sigs I havent seen before...they look enhanced...haha...if that makes any sense...

Maybe I'll post sigs Ihave saved from other members next....haha...as long as I dont get sued by them...

Hadn't you posted a tutorial or something years ago?
Or could I get one?

Ha I kind of made a tutorial somewhere else and was gonna use that same one....but the pics arent coming out...

So guess I´ll just post how I would make one and you just follow...

Let's see...open Photoshop of course...and start a new project...
For this example lets make it...
Width 600 pixels and Height 120 pixels...Resolution 96...Background Contents Transparent...

Image

Than take the custom tool shape and well..make a shape...than go to Layer...Rasterize....Shape...

Image

Let's see....than I took a pic of something...let's get Stewie...than I took the magic wand and selected the white areas...if you press shift you can choose a few spots at the same time...than I went to Select...and Inverse..
And well copy...and paste on top of the shape...

Image

Image

With the eraser erased all the rest around Stewie...and scaled him down a bit...
Than with the text typed Stewie...

Image

To give the text some edge go to Layer...Layer Styles...Blending Options..
than click on the word Layer and well....pic whatever style you like...

Image

Ok than with the Rectangular Marquee Tool selectg a piece of the shape and erase it....I mean there's a whole lot of ways to do this...so have fun...but to make this quick...I made it simple...

Image

Ok than copy a pic of anything...lets say a wallpaper of whatever...go to Layers...New...Layer...and make sure the mode is Overlay

Image

And paste that pic you copied of anything on that new layer...which will overlay the image over...and give it a motion blur...ha...this is cheap...
Than choose the shape...and with the magic wand select it...and again go to Select....Inverse....
Choose layer 2 which is the overlayed whatever you pasted and delete...
It should look like this for now...

Image

If not than ask away....I'll probably lose a few around this part...

Than choose the shape again and go to Layer...Blending Options....and do whatever to the shape...

Image

Ok...now again....copy a pic of whatever....new layer...overlay...and paste...and again select shape....select it all....inverse....delete....
And well I guess after this save as gif....or save for web as gif...

Image

If I explained well and you did well...than good...ha...if anything ask and hopefully Spaz will answer for me...

Hm... at deviant art maybe? But I think whatever tutorial I have read so far was about... about... that other program... but I might be mixing things up.

Ha but magic wand is great for begginers....I usually use the eraser or burning tools removing color layers...with the pic like 400 % zoomed...ha..
