Consequence of not using <a> is that people with a text browser or disabled javascript cant use your links at all.

And a good alternative for menus would be using a <ul> with <li><a href="#">Blah</a></li>.
Then using css, remove list item, block the <li>, padding for the <a> so they act like a your <td>.

Code:
<a href="#" style="padding: 5em;">Testing</a>

Does what you're trying to do when I tested it.

The freeness of 110mb is starting to come into play. I wanted to make a mailing list to notify people when a review comes up. I already made a script for it, but 110mb doesn't support PHP Sendmail without a paid upgrade. I was also going to implement a forum, but I can't send out emails for verifying registration, and I am also forced to use SQLite which is slow and unprotective compared to mySQL.

This sucks. I'm considering going for paid hosting. Anyone know anything about IX Web Hosting?

EDIT: http://chainreunion.110mb.com/

The new site is up. It looks a little awkward because of the lack of content for now. I have confirmed that my site works perfectly on IE8, Firefox, and Chrome.

Well, I was awake late at night yesterday and just wanted to get my site up and go to sleep, but I will explain more about what differentiates it from my first website now.

-Proper syntax. I'm using the doctype declaration HTML Transitional and I have everything properly nested and closed.
-A different title for each page, meta tags, changeable font size, etc.
-Much better looking I think.
-Through the power of PHP, everything is automatic and I have implemented my own on-site posting system for authors.

EDIT: I have finished working out all the issues on my site. All of my pages pass on the W3C validator for transitional.

Nope, but I always hear good things from GoDaddy.com.

Pictures are always helpful and a Miscellanies section under the reviews is always good. The Miscellanies for the Animetric reviews is something I always enjoyed.

The look of your site has improved. :d^_^b:

I can't say anything about IX Web Hosting, but I use HostGator and I haven't really had any problems with them over the past couple years. I've got the business plan and I use about 45 gigs worth of bandwidth a month without a problem. Needless to say they really aren't unlimited packages (that's a recent change on their part too, used to be set amounts not too long ago) because they have a set mbps rate or whatever so you can't just go buck wild. That's how they get you with the unlimited lie. At any rate, it's fairly cheap and is one of the largest around so you may want to check it out. Plus it's simple to upgrade to a higher package if your traffic gets that beast.

Nice work with the site though Mmsven! It's especially impressive since you coded it all yourself :d^_^b:

I have programmed a fully functional comment system to news, blogs, and reviews, it's fucking awesome. I have improved alot of other little things as well.

Unfortunately, most of what made this game special is in every shooter today. I don't have the luxury of nostalgia with this game, and that makes it impossible for me to forgive all of its flaws.

:(

you have to look at the competition. i think all i remember back then was doom, quake, duke nuke-em, and wolfenstein.

I made a bunch of minor visual improvements, and now I'm willing to call this version 1. I'm interested in getting back into my game development.

Completely CSS and div design, and is XHTML 1.1 valid. You can test my awesomeness here: http://validator.w3.org/

Next I'll be adding new features and then make a second skin to test the CSS. I'm also going to be learning SQL.

Hey, how've you been, man?

I think you uploaded a new video onto your YouTube channel? I'll watch it as soon as the internet returns to my apartment or as soon as I remember to bring headphones to the library, whatever comes first.

If by "new" you mean 6 months ago, then you would be correct.

Hey Mmsven, I see you're still working on the site itself, but what about the reviews and such? Haven't seen a new one since the first Half-Life review you posted many months ago :(

Hm, you're right, of course... but I would have sworn that I read your alias in a YouTube mail informing me about new videos... but now that I think about it it might just be that they mention all of your subscriptions in these mails just to tell you that someone might have posted something new. Weird policy. :|

I've pretty much learned everything I need to know with SQL. This is fucking excellent. Now I can change my awful PHP variable storage to SQL storage, which will now allow me to make a user system and on-site post editting.

My priorities are on finishing the site first. Once I do that, I very much look forward to starting my own community.
