The longest amount of time I played any game is Oblivion which I've played for over 300 hours . . . though Oblivion isn't an MMO. ;)

Seriously though 3000 hours over two and a half years . . . that nearly 5.5 hours a day . . .

Well, I tend to play an hour or two each night after work, and considerably more on the weekends when I actually have the chance to play with my (mostly US-based) guildies.

In my defense though, not all of those 3000 odd hours were with me actually AT the computer. There are occasions when I would simply leave my character sitting in a map overnight because I wasn't able to finish doing the quest in that area, so I would leave it there and return to it the next night.

The same thing happens to me so I try and keep track mentally of how long I have just left it on at times so I know that the number of hours it actually shows is very wrong. My actual "hours" in the game is at 500, but I subtract off some for times when I just left the game minimized for a week and such, so I know it isn't really 500, which makes me feel a lot better.

WOW, 3000 hours is no joke. You've spent more time playing Guild Wars in the past two and a half years than I have watching anime in the past 8 (I'm at about 2400 hours...) The amount of time people spend playing MMO's, in general, is nuts!

It's crazy that you have actually counted the hours you have spent watching anime. I guess I could as well, but I would need to count all of the episodes first, and that would take too long.

I am probably done playing GW as soon as I beat this last boss. I've grown tired of playing it, and very tired of being level 20...
There are way too many things I want to do in GW, among them: achieve the title of legendary cartographer, then I also want to finish all the bonus missions in Tyria, finish at least once the run to Droknar, and then focus on PvP, which I don't do much.

When I had around 150 titles under my belt I was interested in finding out how long I had actually spent watching anime. So I started going through all of them, counting up the number of episodes/length of the movie etc., and came up with an initial value. Since then, every time I finish a title I add it to my total so I don't have to try and go back and figure it out again. I like keeping track of things like this, it's quite an interesting thing to see as you go. Using this I have calculated that since I started watching anime 8 years ago I have spent an average of 49 minutes per day watching it. Quite a bit of time...

I ran into the problem of getting bored with it all, but this seems to be happening to me with most games, not just GW. They just don't really interest me much anymore.

I checked again last night. My number of hours clocked is getting close to 4000. This was over the past 29 months.

Bitten by the perfectionist bug, wolfwood? I've got a heap of in-game goals to achieve myself; beating Eye of the North, for starters, maxing out a couple of the reputation title tracks, fully equipping my Heroes, and completing several of the elite missions on my characters.
