Japanese Restaurants abroad

Of course it's not true. But it's also true that in Japan (with a few exceptions in very traditional-style restaurants) they will let you sit on western chairs, with your shoes on. I think they'll provide you with fork and knife also, but I never asked for such tools. 8)

Besides I have a nice video for thinkers:

Shift happens

There are also sequels or update versions, but I like this one best because it's compact. The others will just try and impress you with more numbers as it seems.
Oh, and there's also a parody labeled "Were you aware?", but it's a rather brainless spoof.

That was an interesting video. However, at some point, unless the human race evolves (or is upgraded) to the point where they can cope and manage with such massive information overload, any further improvements to data communication and calculation will be pointless, because it's at a state that is effectively useless to the average human.

Oh come on... at least say a few words introducing the topic instead of just letting us click... :D

So... most Japanese eat at a Sushi restaurant once a day... actually I doubt that. That would mean that eating Sushi was at least a weekly topic in conversations ("Let's go to Sushi Shôgun tomorrow!"), but that's not the fact.
Do most Americans eat a hot dog every day?

Okay... it creates humor by means of exaggeration... 8)

Hm... asking the person next to a free chair is not necessarily a uniquely Japanese habit... Germans tend to do this as well on occasion. Although there ARE impolite imps.

Haha... indeed there are Japanese traditional jokes about different quality types of Sushi... low-income persons reveal themselves by that. Just forget that "minced pasta" stuff. Whoever claims that has no idea what spaghetti prices in Japanese supermarkets are like.
And forget that "maa maa maa maa" stuff as well, please...

Don't eat Sushi with your hands... that's barbaric... and don't use too much soy sauce... use a drop or two.
By the way... what's that guy's sushi made of... it bends like rubber!?

Who calls a Sushi chef "Taishô" (= "General")?
Edit: After doing some research I found that this is true. It's a rather traditional thing, but it exists.

"Ryôshûsho" huh... why don't they just call it a receipt???
And there's definitely no saltlick where I have eaten!! :D

Nice one... I remember some kinda computergame like that... but I wasn't very inspired. :D
Furthermore... what exactly does Pythagoras have to do with that?

Here's a cool video from Canada:

Tom et ses chumps
(It has a second part, don't forget that one!)

Lesson learned: Don't take roleplaying too serious! :D

42317,

That video is hilarious. "THIS is a serious game!"

I love the look of their faces when they say, "Hey, let's loot the bodies now!" And the guy leading it is like, "Um, the thief did that while you were killing all the people."

Though, the whole rape thing was a little odd

Wow, someone has a lot of time on their hands to do all that!

42317,

Yeah, there was a PC game called The Incredible Machine. It came with my first computer that ran Windows 3.1 on it (before that we had a DOS PC)... but that's getting a little OT for this thread.

I've seen a lot of these videos before... the David Blaine ones are hilarious. I always get a laugh out of the Japanese restaurant one. I totally forgot all about that one old lady and the air bag... I laughed the first time I saw it and it still makes me laugh now. Hehe.

The guy who was dancing and kicked the kid... OUCH!!

The keyboard guy... like someone else said, it's either really funny or really sad if the guy really has an abusive dad.

Great thread. I love these videos.
