I wonder what happened to the girl reviewer Rowena Lim? She used to own animetric.com right? Did she sell it?

We had to kill her :ninja:

Nah...she went on with her life I would say...having now 2 kids...her husband...she just didn't have time anymore for the site or the boards....
So yes...she sold it

She now does articles for a magazine I think it was...at least last I knew....

Why...is the current reviewer too much into hentai? :0:-):

That's correct, she put Animetric up for sale around the start of 2007 and that's when I ended up buying it.

I remember emailing her once (or actually I wrote the message to the usual Animetric email-address, so I didn't know whom I wrote), don't just remember whether she wrote back. Maybe she did... Mainly due to her recommendation I bought Hourglass of Summer DVD-visual novel, and it was great. At the message, I said she might also like Phantom of Inferno, which she reviewed later.

Animetric was one of the first places I searched anime reviews when I got interested in anime stuff. Had a slow connection then and couldn't be online too often, I tried to load the anime reviews in the browser's cache so I could read those later offline. Happy memories...

I never got to speak to Miss Ro, but i applaud her for her efforts in making this a great anime site and i obviously have had the chance to speak with Sir Aaron and i commend him for keeping the site alive and not selling it. I do note that since Sir Aaron's reign, all reviews have been written by him and during Miss Ro's, she wrote about 98 percent of the articles and some friends i believe helped in doing occassional work in the review department, just something i noticed.

Certainly lately all the reviews have been written by me, but at the beginning of my tenure Animedude35 and Sublyminal both wrote a couple reviews for the site and Spaz wrote about 12. He got too busy to really keep going though, so he hasn't written a review for the site in about 7 months. I'm running more around an 85%

Doing a good job of it too. I've always been happy with this site, though, no matter if it's Ro or Ac running shop.

Cool! You did a great job by updating regularly and by putting more high quality screen caps (*naughty*)! Looking forward to more reviews!

I'll tell ya one thing: if Miss Ro was still here, she'd back me up in declaring that Eva DOES NOT suck!!! :shame: Just look at her rave reviews on the tv series and movies, all expressing nothin' but the truth, so help me God!!!

I think Evangelion is way overrated, but I still like it.
What's the point in argueing whether it sucks or not? There is no point.
It's terrible enough that there are hordes of fans who think Evangelion was a revelation and treat every little critical statement like someone offended their mother or something. I'm talking about the collection of pukes populating YouTube who'll call you names and give your comments negative ratings, no matter how polite or diplomatric you put your opinion. :d-_-b:

... and all this should be in the Evangelion thread.
... but I think ther is none.

OK, i'll concede. But i'll leave y'all with just ONE point: ever since Eva came out, almost every mecha show since that is not either Macross or Gundam has been trying to imitate it. You name 'em: Brain Powerd, Gasaraki, Rahxephon; the list goes on and on. Sad but true. Even in some small level, a part of just about most mecha shows owes it's dues to Eva. Just think about it, you'll get it.

And on that note, ladies and gentlemen of the Animetric board, i rest my case.

And you too artofwar, and I'm glad you enjoy those screenshots, I always try to pick out the best ones I can

You must have looked at my ratings to have known I wouldn't quite be with you on the Eva front  Though I suppose you are right, I can give it credit for giving me, in some part, Rahxephon, which I enjoyed much more than its predecessor.
