i feel you, my friend. it would be an amusing thread topic for us to post our stories.

Perhaps I should include, "Show your porn collections, too!".
people started talking about their porn hiding skills in the first page i believe. my girlfriends were the ones always bringing up porn. my ex would talk about the most interesting things about porn. one time she was watching some beastiality clip on her computer and she turns to me asking me what i thought of this. she always made me speechless so many times...

Bestiality (that's how it's actually spelled) in real life is some of the most disgusting, sickening shit I've ever seen in my life. It also makes me disgusted in anime, but to a lesser extent.

yes, but misspelling it is so much better! adds a touch of flair.

This is an old image of my manga collection (I have only some anime DVD's with Akira and the Rurouni Kenshin OVA's, both are lost somewhere else :P)

Image

Series i'm collecting at the moment
- Bleach (24)
- Full Metal Alchemist (11)
- ¡Ah! Mi Diosa (22)
- Naruto (35)
- The Blade of the Inmortal (21)
- Excel Saga (I only have the 4 töbon which were distributed here. Nevertheless, I've read a Spanish scanslation up to the 18th and I was really pissed off by the shitty translation that was made in the manga I bought. Thus, I'm planning to save up and import it from the USA, due to the good price I can get with the up-to-date currency values... would be like 100€ for the whole 18 tôbon which have been released at the moment)

The collections I've finished are...

Single tôbon manga
- Metropolis
- Lost World
- Midori
- Lunatic Lover's
- Okkikoshi

And then, the rest of my finished manga collections
- Otaku in Love (3 tôbon)
- .Hack (4 tôbon)
- Slayers Special (4 tôbon)
- Cat Shit One (4 tôbon)
- Slayers: Knight of the Aqua Lord (6 tôbon)
- Akira (6 tôbon)
- Ray (7 tôbon)
- Death Note (12 tôbon, waiting for the 13th)
- Love Hina (14 tôbon, the first manga I collected... brings me memories  )

By the way, some of the depicted books are not manga, as you can see.
I have as well Blacksad and Paracuellos (which are the best Spanish comics one can see around), Maus and 300, and I'm planning to buy V for Vendetta. Aside of that, I have a taste for Spanish vignettists, such as Maitena (well, she's Argentinian, but lives in Spain) or Forges.

Funny that I hadn't even noticed Maus in that picture. It's a different cover than what I have on my shelf, though. Is that a hardcover?

There are different covers? That is the only one I know.

Hard cover, it's the only edition we have here.
Since most non-Japanese comics are published that way, and they have sensibly less content in pages than manga, it is no wonder that people buy manga. You know, paying >20€ for a notebook of 50 pages is not what a collector dreams of.

Speaking for the German market: I think it's just the comics that are considered "art" that come in a hardcover, or special editions of well-selling others, because most western comics that I see on the shelves come along in softcovers, and I don't just mean the US imports, also the Europeans, like Astérix, Les Tuniques Bleues, Spirou and Fantasio, Yoko Tsuno, "Lucky Luke", "Percy Pickwick", "Les Schtroumpfs", "Les aventures de Tintin", etc.

There could be different covers. Bloodfairy said it was hardcover; there could be a variant for that version. I'll include what I have.

Edit: I decided to check my bookstore's web site just now about this one. What I have (which is pictured here) is a slip-cased edition of both volumes. The box has the covers for each volume on the outside, and I'm holding it so where I'm showing volume 1 ("My Father Bleeds History").

I believe Bloodfairy's copy is this listing on borders.com, which seems to collect both "My Father Bleeds History" and "Here My Troubles Began" into a single volume.
