I haven't actually seen the use of the word "photo" as a verb before, either. In today's culture where pictures can be easily taken by mobile phones and digital cameras though, I suppose it was inevitable.

I don't think language change of this kind is linked to technical progress... :D

("photo") has a kind of grotesqueness as a verb...

My thought...

The "all but" means almost or nearly. The "all but" is pretty much a fragment of what could be a lengthier description, for example "The market was all but for a few people, empty".

Pfffff... no consent among native speakers? *lol*

Photo is a short name for photograph.
true, but as zaxares points out, it is not used as a verb. if kids start using it as a verb it will be my duty to shoot them down. and when i say shoot i mean not with a camera...

yeah! i met this girl once and she wanted my msn. weird, i passed it off as she was young. the way she would bastardize the english language by text forced me to block and delete her... i understand getting sms from people who have to pay by the character, but on msn it is just plain wrong.
ie. "i h8 how u have 2 use sum sorta code 2 read er..." :blech!:

So the delinquents were moved to Australia, the religious moved to the US, the adventurous to New Zealand, which left the British Isles with the laid-back while all the beautiful and righteous came to Canada?

though living in igloos with all the cold, snow and wind, it does damage to our beauty. on the bright side everything is covered in beautiful white. and you and i both know that 'white is right!'

No. All the poor British (large majority being Irish) and French people came to settle in Canada. Land used to be very cheap and we had rich farmland.

Don't worry, I know the settlement history of North America.
I was just making an exaggerating joke, since a certain Canadian was punning at a certain former "penal colony" :D

So are trying to say that you want to stay on this thread? I don't know if that's even possible.
Or are saying that you're not sure what to say in this thread? English can be confusing at times.
