And about LotR… I dunno… I always thought there was a weird homoerotic thing going on between Frodo and Samwise.

“Mr Frodo!”
“Oh, Sam!”
“Mr Frodo!”
“Oh, Sam!”
“Mr Frodo!”
“Oh, Sam!”
“Mr Frodo!”
“Oh, Sam!”

You get the idea. ;)

I agreed that was a tad homoerotic.

I think JK Rowling just wants more money.

Nothing like creating some controversy to cause a media hoopla around a finished book series to renew interest in people to see what all the fuss is about. If him being gay was worth anything, it would have been in the books to begin with. Or she was trying to keep him being gay out of the books since they are children's books, but that hasn't changed. Regardless, why she would come out and say it now could only be for the media attention.

I feel the notion that Dumbledore was gay does nothing to the overall story of Harry Potter. It doesn't effect the outcome of Deathly Hollows. It would makes sense that Dumbledore felt this way for Grindelwald, it just doesn't effect the overall plot of the series. If Rowling knew while she was writing the books that Dumbledore was gay, it might have been left out because saying he's gay does nothing to the story except to confirm that he's was gay.

Like I've said, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest that this is little more than a PR stunt.

I am fully aware of these scenes, but I did not mention them because Sam is the one hobbit with a relationship, that rustic tavern wench... :D

And notice how sad and disappointed Frodo looked at Sam's wedding? Now we understand the TRUE reason he ran way to the Grey Isles!
