This is a thread for anyone to discuss current events. Whether it be a hot news topic or some big sports event, etc. Anything related to current events. Have fun!

EDIT: We could probably merge the News Thread into this one if any of the mods or the admin desires it, since current events includes news as well as other issues and topics.

Hm... I thought "current events" was something more like festivals, concerts, conventions... happenings that don't easily enter the newspapers. :?:

Well by "current events" I'm more referring to the current issues that are important. The war, the elections, etc.

Oh, I see... that would be like presenting the facts in the Official News Thread and discussing those here?
Why not discuss the stuff in the other thread in the first place?

Sadly, I do not have the ability to merge threads into one, I only have the ability to separate them. So much for my Godlike powers!

So, which one are we going to keep? This one, the News one, or both? If we are going to keep both we would need to differentiate them from each other.

Has board evolution taken a step back?
As a BRS mod I was doing that all the time.

I guess so! I could probably install a mod... ya know how it goes. This phpBB forum seems to start off rather extremely basic and a lot of the mods I want I do not have the ability to install. At this point in time I am probably going to move the forum over to VBulletin which has a crap load more options and is usually what is used by people after they get a free software forum like phpBB going. They have a bunch of programs and such to convert phpBB to VB so nothing would be lost in the move. That way I could get everything on want into the forum with one move, rather than trying to install a ton-load of mods.

Anyways, everyone hear about the 7-Elevens turning into kwik-e-marts? I have one in my area, and it's like 20 minutes away :P

Yeah, I've heard about it. It's kind of like the Chevy ad I've seen a few times today, where it's selling both Chevy cars and the Transformers movie.

Only a dozen? That's just too small-scale to be anything serious.
In a country as big as the USA this won't make for more than a promotion gag.

Okay, the currently most important thing would be Jesus' official birthday I guess...

Merry Xmas to all of you!
