Here a recent video by Kanye West, doing a remix of the Daft Punk song Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. Has influences from Akira, albeit subtle.

Did you say "subtle"!?!
Yes, I know you did, but did you really mean it?
I'd say the "influences" are pretty obvious and not just influences but more or less a full adaptation:
The examination apparatus, the motorbike scenes and the scene in the hospital are close to 100 percent from the original. Apart from the fact that they couldn't shoot the street scenes with the bikes as recklessly as they were in "Akira".

I never really liked the song. I don't mind marxist propaganda more than other propaganda, but this song is so hopelessly idealistic it makes me shake my head. I don't think that religion, national constructs and the concept of possession are a (or the) source of evil. Humans are natural born egotists and exceptional specimen seem more like rare mutations to me.
The egotist's longing for power is what makes the mentioned concepts corrupt, which is to say, Mr. Lennon has mourned the symptoms but did not see (or speak out) the cause.

 , I have not seen Akira for around 3-4 years, so these direct scene adaptations were lost on me. All I really recognized was the trademark Akira bike look and him riding on it super fast. Thus, rather subtle to me, but apparently not if I could remember more of the movie. Speaking of Akira, I have been meaning to re-watch it for a while now, maybe I will finally get around to it for a little comparison.

Here is a video of Apocalyptica playing Hope Vol II. This is the same song on the Now and Then, Here and There music video I posted, just this version has vocals. So if you liked that song, you should enjoy this version.

Man, what are your extremes?
I'm not really sure whether these can be called "music videos"... in a very, very broad sense maybe. Be it as it may, I have seen such videos on different channels before and all of them were used for ideological crap comments from at least two different parties, turned very ugly, always. I'd rather be careful with such videos, especially if they're so loaded with ideology. Western people are even more sensible about Islam matters today than in the time of all these Muslim terrorist hijackings twenty, thirty years ago.

Looking up the EVA - Beer video, I found the "Dumb Song" by Psychostick, which I happen to like:

Psychostick - Dumb

The Avalanches-"Frontier Psychiatrist"

Decend into madness the fun way! I really enjoy this video due to the sheer amount of randomness. A must see video (not completely sure what genre the music would fall into though).

Holy moly that thing was crazy. Though I must say, I rather liked it. Song was quite catchy as well.
