Not sure if this goes in the Live-Action thread or not, but since there's a Monty Python thread made here, then I suppose a MST3K thread is OK.

If you're not familiar with the show, I'll give ya an explanation.

It's about this guy named Joel Robinson (who gets replaced by Mike Nelson by the 2nd half the 5th season) who gets launched up in a bone-shaped spaceship called the Satellite of Love (S.O.L.) by the evil Dr. Clayton Forrester and his assistant TV's Frank (the villains were replaced with Pearl Forrester, Observer, and Professor Bobo by the 8th season). Dr. Forrester subjects Joel to watch some the worst movies ever made, so Joel decided to make a couple of robot pals (Tom Servo, Crow T. Robot, Gypsy, and Cambot) so he wouldn't have to sit through these movies alone. For most of the show, you'll just see their silhouettes while they watch and riff throughout the movie.

Here's more detailed info, if this isn't enough for ya: ... eater_3000

I think this is one of the best shows on TV ever and I wish it wasn't cancelled. I love the wise-ass remarks Joel/Mike and the Bots make during the movie, whether it's a fun b-movie or a godawful one. Some of their sketches segments can be funny at times, but I just prefer them sitting in the theater and make fun the movie instead.

Since it's not on TV anymore, you can catch a lot of the episodes on Google Video, Youtube, Veoh, etc.

So anyone here watch MST3K here and if so, do you like it or not?

A geek friend introduced me to the concept after I had seen similar scenes is various AMVs. It's funny, but I have not seen much, 20 minutes?, due to an overload of more valued interests.

i liked it. i even bought a couple dvds.
though what is even better is watching similar terrible movies and doing the exact thing with your friends. provided that you have funny friends... heh.

just a tip. know your audience. if any of them are enjoying the movie. shut up!
