Synopsis:
It's summer vacation. Wataru can't think of anything except snagging his ultimate dream girl, Mai. But Mai seems so perfect and out of reach. To make things worse, a super wealthy and arrogant guy named Kenji keeps getting in Wataru's way. Still, Wataru remains unfazed and tries to get close to Mai by all means possible. And while Mai is yet out of Wataru's grasp, what could be better than a little summer loving with the cute athlete Misa, the secretive restaurant girl Satomi, and the seemingly naive Kurumi?

Review:
End of Summer can be likened to a teenage romance novel. The plot can be summed up in one sentence -- our young stud Wataru has to get Mai. Of course, the path to true love is never easy and so there are a lot of other gir... uh, obstacles Wataru must overcome.

End of Summer features a hormonal young cast on the verge of sexual discovery. The overall atmosphere is light and the approach to sex is rather sweet. The main character Wataru gets all the pumping action. He just seems to be always in the right place at the right time (as most hentai heroes are). The sexual opportunities just keep falling on his lap. The way girls beg Wataru to bed or deflower them never ceases to amuse me, as I doubt that sort of scenario can take place in real life. But Wataru is such a gentle guy that he's still likeable no matter how many girls he's uh... done.

This series obviously caters to the male fantasy, but the way things are presented is tasteful and generally non-offensive. End of Summer' sex scenes are done with great care -- the viewer is taken from foreplay to the aftermath in a gradual and realisitic pace, obviously designed to tittilate but not saturate. It's more like lovemaking rather than just f*cking for the heck of it. The sexual acts are depicted clearly, but you don't get to see the lower genital area. It's all boobs, butts, and a variety of camera angles which hide actual penetration. The second tape is naughtier, dabbling in a bit of bondage and subtle domination fetishes. The art and animation are of surprisingly good quality, which is a definite plus. While End of Summer may not be enough for those seeking hardcore hentai stuff, it's a pretty decent anime which strikes a nice balance between sex and storyline -- simple as the plot may be.

This anime is based on an adult PC game where one plays a guy whose goal is to have sex with as many girls as possible. It consists of two volumes containing two episodes each.
