Description:
You are Shinichi Kashiwagi, a college student. Out camping one night, a typhoon hits and you find yourself cold and lost in the middle of the woods. Struggling against the roaring winds and pouring rain, you stumble downhill and injure yourself. When you wake up, you are in bed with a beautiful woman. She's trying to warm up your cold body through some very erotic means. Later on, you discover that you are trapped in a large antique mansion full of gorgeous ladies. The problem is, you can't get out. They can't get out either. But the mistress of the mansion senses the power of change within you... and if you help the ladies resolve their inner conflicts, you might just be able to return to your world with the girl of your choice.

Review:
Nocturnal Illusion is the first and probably one of the easiest bishoujo games I've played. There's only one path to take. No matter what you do, you just can't go wrong in the game. You can't die and get a bad ending. It's also impossible to miss all the sex scenes whatever choices you make. If you can't figure out what to do next, just go to every accessible area and talk to everyone you meet. It's that simple. Just before the game ends, you get a choice of which one of the ten or so girls you want to take with you. You can save before making that choice and thus, see all the endings.

Although it's obviously not a challenging game, I liked Nocturnal Illusion a lot. The dialogues are kept short and sweet, yet the story is developed to its full potential. Characterization is quite good as all the girls are given very distinct personalities, looks, and angsts. The artwork is also very impressive especially given the fact that this game was originally released in the mid-90's. Nocturnal Illusion contains generous amounts of uncensored and explicit sex, which will surely please hardcore hentai fans. Just about every niche of hentai is represented - from conventional intercourse to S&M, demon sex, lesbian activity, masturbation... etc. Interestingly enough, you even get a chance to do fairy tale characters like Little Mermaid and Red Riding Hood. There's also a "reminisce" option which allows you to view all the erotic scenes after you finish the game.

Overall, this is a worthwhile title to check out. It had been out-of-print for the longest time but is now re-released by Milky House.
