You are a young man named Ohji Kamogawa. You fail the university entrance exam and your girlfriend Yukari dumps you for another guy. Wallowing in self-pity and depression, you somehow wind up rescuing a pretty maid named Mari from a group of thugs. Mari insists on repaying you for your kindness, and so she invites you over to the mansion where she works. It's no ordinary mansion, however. A sensuous woman named Hime is the mistress of the house, and she assigns three young maids to cater to your every desire. Will you give in to the seduction and leave the world you've always known behind?

Review:
Thank goodness for Peach Princess. With Little My Maid, we are once again entreated to a bishoujo game that involves a whole lot more than just mindless clicking. In fact, Little My Maid is actually one of the most difficult multi-path games I've ever come across. Of the eleven endings enumerated in the game manual, I've only managed to unlock five after days and days of playing and charting various decision trees.

You are Ohji, a regular guy who's just been dealt a double whammy -- you just failed the all-important university entrance exam and lost your girlfriend to another guy. Your ego is shot and your confidence has basically gone down the tubes. As you reflect on your misery, you chance upon a pretty girl being sexually assaulted by some punks. She is Mari, a mild-mannered maid. You help her somehow and end up going home to the mansion where she works. The mistress of the house invites you to stay for as long as you like, while Mari and two other maids (namely Hina and Mayu) cater to your every whim. Aside from Mari, Hina, and Mayu, you can also pursue the extremely prim-and-proper head maid Aya, as well as Hime herself. Mari, Hina, and Mayu each have love, trust, and stamina meters. The levels rise and fall depending on how you talk to them, how you treat them, and how you make love to them. There are happy endings and there are "dark" endings for each girl, as well as a default happy ending of sorts which I've seen about a hundred times. If you don't focus well enough on any specific girl in the mansion, you get the default ending. Strangely enough, it isn't the usual love-less and girl-less "empty" ending -- you get your life back minus the misfortunes.

I found Little My Maid to be an insanely difficult game to complete, and I'm rather obssessed with getting all the endings and CGs of every bishoujo game I play. Your character is like a time-bomb. You have this personal strength meter which either goes up or goes down with each sexual encounter. If / when your meter runs out, you're sent back to your own world and you get the default ending. Sometimes (actually, a lot of the time) you get trapped in your room with no choice but to call the maids and have sex with them till you drop. Of course, that means you screwed up somewhere in the decision tree but it's so hard to pinpoint where exactly things went wrong. I had to make this really detailed chart of where every single game decision leads and I'm still far from finished.

Little My Maid's artwork is good, albeit the character designs border more on the cutesy side -- which can either be good or bad depending on your personal taste. Most of the sex scenes are not very detailed and nudity seems to be highlighted more than the sexual acts themselves. It also doesn't help that the game recycles the same set of hentai scenes over and over. Like always, original Japanese voices and background midis make up the audio aspects of the game.

Little My Maid is by no means perfect but I can say that it's one of the better bishoujo games to come out in months. There's a high level of challenge and replayability as well as a distinct story that serves as a backdrop for the sex. Hopefully we'll see more bishoujo games with these qualities in the coming days and months and years...
