Synopsis:
Masato and his dream girl Chihiro have finally hooked up after a sizzling summer by the beach. It's autumn now -- Masato's back to school and Chihiro's working in a diner. The problem is, Masato and Chihiro live in different cities -- and they've been maintaining their relationship only by phone. One fateful day, Masato bumps into a leggy young woman named Rei. Rei wastes no time in asking Masato out, and Masato can't help but accept. Will this spell the official end of Masato and Chihiro's relationship?

Review:
Anyone who has read my "Summer Heat" review would know that I'm in no way enamored with how this series started off. Curiosity got the better of me, however, and I thought things couldn't possibly get any worse. I was so wrong. I must warn you now, spoilers abound in this review... so read at your own risk.

While "Summer Heat" depicts the main character Masato as a dense and bumbling loser, Autumn Heat transforms him into an equally dense and insufferable jerk! Heaven forbid that I ever come across a bastard like him in real life. Masato's supposedly in love with Chihiro, but he immediately agrees to go out with the next girl who comes along. Not only that, he breaks an important date with Chihiro so he can screw around with Rei -- all the while repeating "I'm in love with Chihiro" to himself like a mantra. The buck doesn't stop there. When Masato sees Chihiro walking and talking with another guy, he goes off the deep end and immediately concludes she's a no-good slut who's probably slept with half the town. I guarantee, any sane woman who watches this will be majorly pissed off.

Admittedly though, the art and animation seem to have improved a bit over the first installment's. Chihiro looks more beautiful, and I didn't notice any jerky movements this time around. Sex-wise, Autumn Heat doesn't seem to be as explicit as its predecessor, but you still see everything that's going on. The English dubbing is passable. I must point out that Masato has a filthy mouth worthy of porn-star status. He says stuff like "Your c*nt is delicious..." ever so often. Autumn Heat did manage to elicit more reaction from me (mainly getting me pissed off at Masato), so I guess I could say that it's more stirring this time around.

Autumn Heat is the second of a 3-volume series, "Summer Heat" being the first. Masato and Chihiro's rocky romance continues on in "Winter Heat".
