Lightning Warrior Raidy II: Temple of Desire
Reviewer: Aaron Murphy 08/17/2010

Review:
Continuing shortly after the destruction of Kyubast tower, Lightning Warrior Raidy II: Temple of Desire has us following the sordid travels of our favorite lightning wielding vixen Raidy once again. After traversing the desert for weeks on end she has finally happened upon a quaint little village known as Lake Blue where the peaceful townspeople have recently found themselves under siege by bandits. Never able to let poor innocents be subjugated, Raidy decides to lend her considerable talents to rescuing the scores of girls who have been taken to their forest hideout. Unfortunately for her the bandits training these voluptuous ladies to be sex slaves are the least of her problems. With wizards and demons alike wrecking havoc in every nefarious way possible, her problems are much less simple than she once hoped. But indomitable odds have never stopped her before, and she’s not about to lay down her arms no matter how many sordid acts she has to perform to get the townspeople safe!

For those who played the first Lightning Warrior Raidy bishoujo game, Lightning Warrior Raidy II: Temple of Desire isn’t trying to throw you any curveballs. There are a few modifications, with different areas to explore and a town to visit when you get injured or need more supplies. Aside from that, however, it’s almost exactly the same in structure with seemingly endless dungeons, tiresome grid movement, and continual point and click fight sequences. While I didn’t really mind any of those aspects in the first game, Lightning Warrior Raidy II is substantially longer, effectively compounding these minor annoyances throughout. This is especially true once you figure out that there's no easy way to return to where you were in a dungeon if you decide you have to leave to resupply. While there is an item to teleport you out of a dungeon, if you’re five levels deep and you have to leave, you’re going to have to trek through those five levels again. Now this may not seem so bad, but this is where the grid movement and fighting really start to grate on your sensibilities. It just gets so tiring that after the first time you have to leave a dungeon and retrace your previous progress that you’ll make sure to never find yourself in that situation again.

Of course Lightning Warrior Raidy does its best to alleviate any misgivings we may have with its near continuous display of naked, sexed up girls. Not only do you have the frequent battles with female beasties who lose their clothes when you defeat them, but you also have a whole slew of lascivious sex scenes as well. Each dungeon has a boss you have to defeat (or get defeated by), both of which lead to different sex scenes for you to enjoy. This is either going to involve Raidy or her foe getting violated in some perverse way including being whipped, strapped down on a horse, covered in wax, given an enema, abused with multiple dildos, gangbanged, invaded by a snake, forced to show yourself pissing and masturbating, etc. Even in town you’ll get the same type of sexy time, with townspeople being wonderfully perverse and having loads of twisted sexual activities for you to spy on. From the tavern maid loving young men to the items shop lass loving a little bondage, there's no way to escape from it which may be why you want to masturbate every night you stay at the inn. Especially with the delicious Japanese voice acting that goes along with them.

Equally tasty is Lightning Warrior Raidy II's use of some animated scenes, which serve  to kill the monotony of those endless static images we're all use to. Now these are nothing amazing mind you, just a simple looping sex scene here and there, but it was a very nice touch that was missing from the first. And even when they aren't actually moving all the scenes are quite well drawn and full of luscious ecchi flavor, though I do wish they had been a bit less tame overall. Lower regions are often hidden from view or simply not detailed, which is disappointing given the general level of perverseness throughout.

Lightning Warrior Raidy II: Temple of Desire isn't perfect by any stretch, with an insipidly simple plot and increasingly tedious game play. But for all its quirks and faults it's still a fun and enjoyable game that will serve up a host of sexual content for you to savor for hours on end.

Miscellaneous:
Lightning Warrior Raidy II: Temple of Desire is littered with quite a few glaring spelling and grammatical mistakes. It doesn't really affect ones enjoyment but it is unfortunate to see nonetheless.
