Laocorn Gaudeamus is searching the world for the legendary "Armor of Mars" lost by his ancestors’ years ago. He plans to use its god-like powers for revenge against those who've wronged his family. To keep her brother from doing so, Laocorn's sister Sulia goes to Terry "Hungry Wolf" Bogard for help. Terry and his friends must stop Laocorn before he finds the last piece of armor and turns himself to a god.
Review:
The best thing about Fatal Fury the Motion Picture is definitely the action. The fights are well-choreographed and executed, as can be expected from director Masami Ohbari. Plot-wise, it's pretty straightforward -- our heroes have to stop a maniac from acquiring infinite powers and going berserk. Nothing really innovative there. The twist lies in the fact that the maniac is the brother of Terry's new girlfriend, Sulia. Now this adds some emotional angles to the whole picture.
The art and animation are the best I've seen for any Fatal Fury animated feature. The vividly illustrated characters and superbly rendered action scenes say it all. Everything looks great from start to finish. There are also some revealing scenes where Mai Shiranui is concerned. If you watch very closely, you'll see that her breasts actually do peek out of her skimpy outfit when she is jumping around. I saw it by accident, when I was doing some screen captures.
Overall, this movie is average fare with plus points for high quality art and animation.
